One of the best ways you can get the word out directly to the voters about the Ontarians with Disabilities Act issue is for you to go to one or more all-candidates debates in your riding. When you are there, you can:
- Ask the candidates what commitments they are prepared to make regarding the need for a strong and effective Ontarians with Disabilities Act;
- Tell the public present about the fact that Mike Harris promised us the Ontarians with Disabilities Act in the last election, but broke that promise;
- Tell the candidates and the public present about some barriers which are faced by you or by others you know;
- Hand out copies of our new ODA handout, which you can download from our web site at www.odacommittee.net/download.html and print up for distribution.
We encourage you to contact the campaign office of any candidate in your riding right now, and get the dates, times and exact location of the all-candidates debates in your riding. Plan to attend at least one. Get family and friends to come too. Print up copies of our new 1 page ODA handout to give out there.
If you get any information about any upcoming all-candidates' debates, please E mail me as soon as possible with the name of the riding, the date, time, and exact address of the event. We want to post this information on our web site so as many people as possible can find out about these events. Please help with this effort at finding out when and where these events will be, and let us know as soon as possible.
If you attend an event, Email me to let me know how it went. Let's make democracy work!
