ONTARIANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE UPDATE

ONTARIO GOVERNMENT EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON GUIDELINES FOR ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS FOR ONTARIO GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS TO DECEMBER 15, 2002

SUMMARY

The Ontario Government is conducting a consultation on guidelines to set
under the Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2001 for accessibility of
provincial government buildings. The deadline for submissions has been
extended to December 15, 2002. Be sure to send in your ideas.

The Ontario Realty Corporation (ORC) in accordance with the Ontarians with
Disabilities Act is seeking the opinions of stakeholders to help establish
barrier-free design guidelines for Ontario Government buildings, structures
and premises. The deadline has been extended to December 15th.

The ORC is looking for individuals responses, please forward this email to
friends, co-workers etc. There is a short online survey regarding barrier
free access to Ontario government facilities. To access the questionnaire,
alternate formats and background info please click on the following:

Please take a moment to complete the questionnaire and/or forward this
email to others who would be interested. We have received some feedback
that some have difficulty with the accessibility or useability of the
website in question, so feel free to phone or write to the Ontario Realty
