Update on the March 22, 2000 Ontario
By-election in Parry Sound - Muskoka
It is now only 17 days away. All three parties have now nominated their
Conservatives: Norm Miller
Liberals: Evelyn Brown
NDP: Joanne Bury
We encourage you to attend as many of the All Candidates' debates
as possible and to raise the ODA there. We have learned that the
following All Candidates' Debates have been scheduled:
March 7 - 7 p.m.
Bobby Orr Centre, Parry Sound
March 8 - 7 p.m.
Land of Lakes Senior Public Schools, Burke's Falls
March 20 - 7 p.m.
Gravenhurst Opera House
Please encourage anyone you know who lives in or near this riding
to attend these, and to raise the ODA issue, the positions and
records of the three parties, and the importance of this for you.
Also, contact each candidate to discuss this ODA issue. Talk about
it with other voters in the riding.
You might want to ask the candidates something like the following:
Mike Harris has broken his promise to enact the Ontarians with
Disabilities Act in his first term, his promise to work together
with the Ontarians with Disabilities Act Committee to develop this
law, and his promise to introduce an action plan for developing
this law during the last session of the Legislature. Do you
approve or disapprove the Premier's actions? What will you do
about this on behalf of people with disabilities living in Parry
Sound Muskoka if you are elected?
Please let us know about any developments in Parry Sound - Muskoka on
