Dear Mr. Lepofsky:

Thank you for your letter regarding the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA).

I am sorry we were not able to connect in person when I telephoned you earlier this month.

As the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, I am honoured to have responsibility for overseeing the implementation of an effective ODA and working with key stakeholders, such as the ODA Committee, to bring about meaningful change.

My government recognizes the ODA Committee's unwavering commitment to improving accessibility and opportunity for all Ontarians with disabilities.

Early stakeholder input is crucial as we begin to identify areas that may require change. Dr. Kular, my parliamentary assistant, and I are looking forward to meeting with and listening to a broad range of stakeholders on the barriers that exist for people with disabilities and their families.

Your insights on accessibility are appreciated, as we work towards making the ODA more effective. I look forward working with the ODA Committee as we move forward.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marie Bountrogianni
Minister

c.c. Dr. K. Kular, Parliamentary Assistant
