APRIL 19, 2001 QUEEN'S PARK GATHERING
FOR THRONE SPEECH CONFIRMED
** [Edited April 2, 2001 to add that we have confirmed that American Sign Language and Real Time Captioning will be provided.]
We now have received confirmation that two committee rooms will be made available at Queen's Park for us to watch the Throne Speech on the afternoon of Thursday April 19, 2001.We do not yet know the exact time that the Throne Speech will begin. In the past, it has started around 3:00 p.m. and activities have been completed by around 5:00 or 5:30 p.m. We will let you know more details when we get them.
In the meantime, please:
* Plan to join us at Queen's Park that afternoon as we watch to see whether there is a commitment on the Ontarians with Disabilities Act in the Throne Speech. We will have volunteers at the main doors to help direct you. Just ask for the Ontarians with Disabilities Act Committee.
* Let others know about this event, and encourage them to come or to find other ways to show support for the ODA in their communities on that important afternoon.
* While it is not necessary to RSVP, we would appreciate it if you could let us know if you will be attending. This gives us an estimate of the numbers of people to expect. You can let us know via email to oda@odacommittee.net
or by leaving a voice mail message at: (416) 480-7012
Let's keep building on the great momentum we have on the road to a strong and effective Ontarians with Disabilities Act
