ONTARIANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE UPDATE

Today Is ODA Committee's Ninth Birthday

November 29, 2003

SUMMARY

Fully nine years ago today, on November 29, 1994, the ODA Committee was launched. Have we ever come a long way since then! The twenty or so people who met on that fateful day 9 years ago in a committee Room at Queens' Park to kick off a new provincial coalition to support a strong, effective Ontarians with Disabilities Act could not have foreseen the saga that has unfolded since then In our our campaign for a barrier-free Ontario for all persons with disabilities.

As this new hopeful chapter in our campaign gets underway, let's hope that by the ODA Committee's tenth birthday, we will have achieved our goal of a strengthened Ontarians with Disabilities Act that is strong and effective.
