Dear Minister,

As you know, Mr. Peters has been travelling throughout the province this month on an Ontarians with Disabilities Act consultation tour. This tour has been well received by the many stakeholders we have met.

Throughout this tour Mr. Peters has had the opportunity to be represented in local press articles, as has your communications adviser, Rui Brum. Mr. Brum was recently quoted in the Sault Star as saying that your government has displayed more commitment to the disabled than any previous government. As well, he stated that your government has invested $500 million in various programs and ministries.

Mr. Peters would very much like your officials to provide him with the basis for the claim that you have displayed more commitment to the disabled than any other government including comparative data as well as a complete accounting of the $500 million in allocations.

Considering that your staff have made these claims openly in the press, I must assume that you have this information readily available. I don't believe that it would be too much to ask that your staff provide us with this information within the next couple of days. It is best for all involved to have complete and accurate information.

Thank you for your time and consideration to this pressing matter.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Van Bommel
Executive Assistant, Steve Peters, M.P.P

Cc Rui Brum, Communications Adviser
