Dear Mr. Lepofsky,

The Premier Of Ontario has forwarded your letter of October 14th, 1998 regarding a private member's resolution tabled recently by Dwight Duncan, MPP, in the Legislature on a proposed Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA). The resolution is going through the legislative process.

As you know, this government is committed to promoting access for Ontarians with disabilities. I will be moving forward this section on a solid, practical ODA. I am proud that this government has gone further than any previous government in its commitment to preventing and removing barriers for persons with disabilities.

This government's commitment to introducing an ODA within the economic goalposts of the Common Sense Revolution is a promise we intend to keep. Thank you for your continued interest in this important initiative.

Sincerely,

Isabel Bassett
Minister
