Dear Mr. Baker:

I am writing to inform you that the Second Session of the 36th Parliament of Ontario prorogued on Friday, December 18th. The Legislature had not concluded debate on prorogation before adjournment. The Lieutenant Governor issued a proclamation to prorogue.

This was a very productive session, with 38 public bills passed. As you know, Bill 83, the proposed Ontarians with Disabilities Act, had received first reading. I plan to reintroduce the Act when the legislature returns in the spring. The legislative process provides for further consultation and debate.

Sincerely,

Isabel Bassett
